Bat Sweatshirt #16- *Med - Lg*
Since each manufacturer uses a different sizing chart, I’ve measured each garment while lying flat in two directions. The width is measured across the chest (armpit to armpit) and the height is measured from the shoulder seam (next to the neck band) down to the bottom of the garment. Please reference each sweatshirt number for details such as style, measurements, materials and other info.
Details:
Brand/ Style: (no brand label)/ crewneck
Size (as marked) and Mel's Measurements: (no size label): 22" wide x 27" tall
Color/ Print: Golden Brown/ Scientific Bats
Materials: 100% cotton
Other: Lightweight French Terry fabric, which is smoother on the inside than the traditional fuzzy sweatshirt fleece. Show off your inner chiropterologist (which according to google is someone who studies bats) with this print of illustrative bat studies. Did you know that was the word for someone that studies bats? It comes from the Greek words chir meaning "hands", pter meaning "wing", and of course ology meaning "study of."
Bat sweatshirts ready for fall! This project combines some of my favorite things; recycling, sewing and bats! These sweatshirts have been reworked and are all one-of-a-kind, so grab your favorite before it's gone.
A few details: Each sweatshirt is thrifted, washed and reworked to feature a new design. I only use garments that are in excellent or like-new condition. (Some were never worn and still had the original sales tag!) After washing the batty fabrics and the garment, I then quilt the batty fabric to a new piece of sweatshirt fleece. I serge the edges to make sure nothing will unravel with wear, and then reverse appliqué (sew from the inside) of the garment. Then I cut away the original design to feature a new updated garment in all its batty goodness.
